The Electric Lantern Festival is a week-long international film festival in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, at the start of September 2013.

Now in its third year, the film festival screens films and video from local, national and international professional and emerging producers. The schedule is programmed to bring new, exciting, unusual films to Kent from its spiritual home in Tunbridge Wells' famous Trinity Theatre.

The Festival screens short and feature-length dramas, comedies and documentaries as well as animation and music video between Monday 2nd and Sunday 8th September 2013 on two screens at Trinity Theatre.

Festival submissions have closed for 2013, but there is still time to enter Fusion’s Short Film Competition, the deadline for which is 27th July.

In 2013, the film festival is pleased to include content from Fusion's Short Film Competition. Open to people local to the Tunbridge Wells area, their competition encourages people to create a short film (up to 7 minutes in length).

A selection of these will be screened at the festival on the evening of Saturday 7th September to a panel of judges. These judges will select the short-list to go through to final round. The winner will be announced at the end of October at Fusion's closing night gala, and awarded a prize of £1,000.

For more information, including how to enter, visit our Competition page.
